K-Tech clearly understands that its ultimate safety, health and environment (SHE) goal is the prevention of accidents, incidents, property damage, human health concerned, or environmental pollution. The goal and its subsequent objectives are presented to staff through training, business unit meetings and monthly departmental SHE meetings. Pre-job safety talks; Five Point Safety system; ZERO TOLERANCE and Behaviour Based Safety; are amongst some of the SHE programs that are being implemented alongside the SHEQ Management system; in order to raise SHE awareness at Kumene Resources.

Commitment to SHEQ Management

Our SHE management system is guided by a clear commitment to incident and injury free work and a ZERO TOLERANCE to UNSAFE acts by our Chief Executive Officer, on behalf of all management. The SHE performance of our personnel and subcontractors on specific projects is the responsibility of the Kumene Resources.

Mine Health & Safety Plan

K-Tech has a SHE Plan in place for all its mining sites. The existing plan covers: emergency information, personal protective equipment, site hazard analysis (chemical and physical), hazard control measures, decontamination procedures, emergency response, communication, and accident prevention. Kumene Resources will reduce SHE concerns by laying out very specific low hazard work to be conducted at all times.

That is to say, hazards will be reduced to their minimum before work is conducted. To further ensure employee safety there will be 24/7 radio communications. In the unlikely event something should happen during a shift when only one person is working, that person can radio quarters to the other team members for help.
